Surviving a Rip Current
Rip currents are truly the silent killers of the beach. It is important that beachgoers are aware of their surroundings. So I decided to choose a lifeguard tower to get my information across. I chose the closest tower on the south side of the Santa Monica Beach Pier because it is one of the most visited beaches in Los Angeles. I colored each side of the Tower a fluorescent color that correlates to the color pallet of the pier itself. I purposefully made it colorful so people can spot it from far away and catch their attention to come closer and observe.
